Do you have an online business or intending to start one?

If yes, here are some tools you need for your online business to succeed.

As an online business owner, one of the things I love to do is search for different ways in which I can use to make my work much faster and produce great results.

Thankfully, there are different tools I have found to be helpful and I use them to make sure that all my online businesses go smoothly.

Of the truth, not all of these tools will be new to you and you might be using them casually without knowing how valuable they can be to the growth of your online business.

The cool part about most of these tools is that they are free and most that have paid versions the money is not that high.

If you are working with a small budget then you can focus on using the free version and still get value from them.

Without wasting much time, let us look at these tools

Domain and Web Hosting

Having a domain name that makes it easy for people to know what your business is all about is very important to the success of your online business.

A domain name can simply be described as the address where people browsing the internet can easily access your website.

For example, Naijahowtozone.com.ng is a domain name that makes it easy for people to access my blog.

Once you have gotten your domain name, the next thing you will need is a hosting service. This hosting service operates the internet server which allows people to share content on the internet.

There are lots of hosting services out there but I have found Bluehost very reliable.

WordPress

For your business to become visible for people all over the world to see it and you start getting clients, you need a place to house the information about your products or services.

There are lots of platforms that allow you easily create a website that includes Blogger, Wix, etc. but I find WordPress to be the best.

With Wordpress, you can easily customize your website with amazing free themes and plugins to optimize your website.

The free version of WordPress is also great to use which is wordpress.com as it comes with a free domain and hosting plan.

But if you really need a professional website for your business, it is best you use a paid hosting.  There are lots of websites that provide this such as Bluehost, web4africa, etc.

Grammarly

Since no one is perfect not even those that are considered as a genius the tendency of making mistakes while drafting a written content for your business to engage your potential customers online is high which is why having a tool that helps you point out where errors are found is needed.

Ever since I started using Grammarly it has helped me in so many ways. Since I am a blogger and need to read most of my contents myself I tend to make some mistakes along the way which would have made me look unprofessional if I have posted them like that online.

Grammarly helps detect the smallest typographical errors you make on your content. It also provides you with the correct word and spelling which makes it one of my favorite tools for success in running an online business.

Email

Once you have set up your website and added all the information on your products or services you will need to create a medium through which your customers can easily communicate with you.

This is where emails come into play.

With an email, your customers will be able to communicate with you on any information or other services your business can provide them.

There are lots of email services out there and they are all free to create.

With the likes of Yahoomail, Gmail which are the most popular you can create as many emails as you want and add it to the contact page of your website.

Email Subscription Tools

When someone visits your website for the first time, they might either buy from you or not.

Most times they might just come to see what you offer then go back to evaluate if they really need your products or services.

With any email subscription tool, you can easily get people’s emails which you can use to persuade them to buy a product or inform them of a new product or service you offer.

There are lots of great email subscription tools you can use such as Mailchimp, Getresponse etc.and embed them on your website so your visitors can put their email address and you can start sending them emails.

Link Shortener

Instead of just having to post a long URL on your social media platforms of other websites a URL shortener helps reduce any URL to a few letters.

This helps to keep your post short and clean.

There are lots of URL shortener out there that you can use but my favorite has always been bit.ly. with bit.ly, you can not only shorten your links but also view how many people clicked on your link.

Canva

Since images are the first thing people see before clicking your post you have got to make sure you use the right images for your websites and post.

Canva is indeed a great tool anyone can use to great high-quality images and the cool thing is that it is free to use.

With canvas, you can design anything ranging from logo, complementary card, book cover, etc. this is a great tool to use if you want to succeed in your online business.

Social Media

Social media plays a huge role in the success of any only business. With social media, you can easily engage with lots of people and turn them to clients.

There are lots of social media platforms out there that you can use to grow your business which includes Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, etc.

Using social media helps you engage with all your customers or followers at once without having to reach out to them individually.

With social media, you can connect with people from different countries and expand your business without having to break your bank.

Product or Service

Every business has to have something they are offering to people and the same goes for online business.

Its either you are offering a physical product that people can buy from you or an intangible service that you can offer to people.

Whatever the case may be, you can choose one of them or do both if you have the capability.

Payment Method

Once you start an online business, you will need a medium through which you can easily send and receive money from your clients.

There are different means of receiving money from your clients online but I prefer PayPal because of their wonderful services.

An alternative to PayPal includes Payoneer, Perfect money, Netteller, etc.
